Journal #6 Trick or Treat
It is that time of year again when the youth of our village descend to grab as much chocolate and sweets as possible. The streets look like a scene from Michael Jacksons Thriller with everyone dressed up and meandering from one house to another.
Halloween always gets a lot of support in our village, most people take part either by going out or welcoming the trick or treaters.
My daughter decided this year to go as the grim reaper/Scream character complete with scythe. It was a scary sight even in daylight, and she loved trying to scare everyone.
We all headed out to do a round of the streets, and we were amazed yet again at the effort some had put into the evening. We managed to get a good haul, even going to the local shop.
Once we returned home, my wife’s brother and his family came over as there was a lack of enthusiasm his area. So everyone (except me) set off again and brought back another load of candy.
Even our dog joined in on the action, although after three walks in one day, she barely made it home under her own steam.
We are very lucky to live in a village that celebrates every occasion with such gusto. Now it will be time for the Christmas decorations to go up.
